Bards are consummate performers, and can specialize in a wide variety of arts. Perhaps most known for their musical skills, either playing instruments or using their voice, dancers are instead those bards whose body is their instrument. Graceful and perfectly controlled in their movements even when appearing wild and frenetic, they inspire those who see them to join in the dance while confounding their enemies.
When you select this archetype at 3rd level you gain proficiency with the Acrobatics and Performance skills. If you are already proficient with either skill, you instead gain an expertise die. In addition, you gain additional specialties equal to your proficiency bonus, and you gain another specialty whenever your proficiency bonus increases. These bonus specialties must be in Performance or Acrobatics.
Also at 3rd level, when you are not wearing armor and not wielding a shield, your AC is equal to 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Charisma modifier.
At 6th level you gain additional benefits when using the Visual art specialty as a spell focus. If you cast a spell has vocalized components you can ignore those components as long as you are capable of performing a seen component, and a spell cast in this way gains a seen component if it does not already have one; if you cast a spell that requires a target to hear you, you can use it on any target that can see you. Furthermore, while using the Visual art specialty as your spell focus if you make a spell attack roll and miss or force a creature to make a saving throw and they succeed you can expend a use of bardic inspiration as a reaction to make a performance check, applying the dance specialty if you have it. You can replace your spell attack roll or your spell save DC with the result of the check, potentially altering the result of the roll. You can do so a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus and regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
At 14th level, you can expend a use of bardic inspiration as an action to target a creature that can see you within 30 ft. If you do so, that creature can take two actions on their following turn, though only one of them can be used to cast a spell of 1st level or higher. Once a creature has benefited from this ability, they cannot do so again until they finish a long rest.
