Music and faith are so deeply connected, some beliefs say creation itself was a divine song or dance. Music is profoundly spiritual even when religion isn’t involved, and religions of all organizational styles use it to connect to the divine, impart meaning to their adherents, and add gravity to their services and ceremonies. Psalmists, divinelyoriented bards, tap into this and bring it out into the world, sharing the word of their faith through magic and song.
When you select this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with your choice of two skills chosen from Culture, Performance, and Religion. You also gain proficiency with an additional musical instrument and an additional martial weapon. These are usually the instrument and weapon traditionally favored by your faith, but sometimes the choice is more pragmatic.
At 6th level, your connection to the divine strengthens. All spells from the divine school count as bard spells for you. In addition, you learn one of the cleric’s Signs of Faith. For the purpose of that feature and its prerequisites, your bard levels count as cleric levels.
At 14th level, you learn to persevere even in the harshest circumstances. All concentration checks to maintain your Battle Hymns or bard spells are made with advantage. You also learn a second Sign of Faith from the cleric class.
