Flamespeakers are druidic acolytes of the mystical power of fire. Far from crude pyromanics, flamespeakers tap into both the literal and spiritual aspects of flame. Initially, they can control fire, accelerating or impeding its spread. But as their understanding deepens, they can burn away not just dry brush or their foes, but deception and falsehood as well. These druids are more likely than most to have a connection to the divine, and they can serve as both prophetic speakers and fearsome avengers for whatever larger cause they may choose.
At 2nd level when you select this archetype, you gain the blessing of the tongue of fire. You become proficient with the Primordial language and its Ignan dialect, and can read, speak, and sign them. You also gain proficiency in the Insight skill.
You also gain the power to burn through misunderstandings. You may cast tongues without using a spell slot and without components. Once you have used this feature, you may not do so again until you have finished a long rest. At 8th level, you may use this feature after finishing a short or long rest, and at 14th level, you are considered to have tongues active at all times.
Also at 2nd level, you gain control over fire with a touch. You learn fire bolt as a bonus cantrip, and you gain resistance to fire damage.
You can also ignite flammable materials by touching them as a bonus action. You may also extinguish up to a 15-foot square of non-magical fire by spending an action to do so. You must be within 5 feet of the fire in order to do this. The area you can extinguish grows to 25-foot square at 8th level and 50-foot square at 14th level.
At 6th level, your gaze burns through falsehoods. You gain the Insight skill specialties sense motive and detect lies, and you may always use Wisdom for Insight checks.
Also at 6th level, as a bonus action, you may place a blessing or curse of fire on a creature you can see within 30 feet of you. The blessing or curse lasts for a number of minutes equal to half your proficiency bonus.
You may use Brand of Flame a number of times equal to half your proficiency bonus, regaining all uses on completion of a long rest.
At 10th level, your gaze burns away more insidious falsehoods and you see visions in fire.
As a bonus action, you may activate your Eyes of Piercing Flame. When you do, your eyes blaze with spectral flames, which shines bright light in a 30-foot cone emanating from you and dim light in that cone 30 feet beyond that. You gain the benefits of the zone of truth spell on all creatures in the bright light cast this way, and you have advantage on Insight checks against creatures in the bright and dim portions. The damage done to creatures that attempt to lie is fire damage rather than psychic damage. The effect persists until you dismiss it as an action.
While this effect is active, you have disadvantage on Stealth checks and may not benefit from invisibility.
You also always have the scrying spell prepared (it does not count against your number of spells prepared) and may use any fire larger than a torch as the focus.
Also at 10th level, you gain a connection to the fires of Heaven or the flames of Hell. Choose one of the following options when you gain this feature:
When you deal fire damage or radiant damage, at your option you can have that damage dealt be half fire damage and half radiant damage.
In addition, you may choose to have your fire spells heal rather than harming, restoring hit points equal to half the damage they would normally do. You may use this feature a number of times equal to half your proficiency bonus and regain all uses upon finishing a long rest.
When you deal fire damage or necrotic damage, at your option you can have that damage dealt be half fire damage and half necrotic damage.
In addition, you may have your flames burn away the life essence of creatures. When you deal fire damage to a creature, you can use this feature (no action required) to decrease the creature’s maximum hit points by an amount equal to the fire damage it dealt. You can use this feature a number of times per day equal to half your proficiency bonus, and you regain all uses upon finishing a long rest.
At 14th level, you learn the Litany of Flame. To use it, you must spend a use of your Wild Shape and an action. Once it has begun, you must concentrate on it like a spell, and you may keep it active for up to 10 minutes. While the Litany of Flame is active you gain the following effects:
