Reckless Protectors are found in all walks of life, from the personal guard of the royal family to the strongest child in a gaggle of back-alley urchins, yet all share this commonality: a radical, furious devotion for those they protect. Always on the lookout for potential threats, these berserkers will gladly suffer having their teeth kicked in, but they will not suffer to see anyone lay a finger on those they’ve taken under their wing.
At 3rd level, you gain proficiency in either the Sanguine Knot or Selfless Sentinel combat tradition and learn a rst-degree maneuver from your selected tradition. This maneuver does not count against your maneuvers known.
Also at 3rd level, you can become so focused on defending others that you barely notice your own injuries. When you rage, the number of rage hit points you generate per turn increases by 1.
At 6th level, you instinctively know when something threatens your allies. You gain proficiency in Insight and Perception, or an expertise die with these skills if you are already proficient, and you may add your Constitution modifier to checks made with these skills (even if you already do, such as if you later choose the “Don’t Get Fooled Again” feature). In addition, you cannot be surprised while you are conscious.
At 10th level, you severely punish those who would break with you to pursue your allies. You can attack twice, rather than once, when you make an opportunity attack using a weapon. The additional attack may target the same creature or a different target within reach.
At 14th level, your fury can protect your allies from death itself. When you touch a living creature at 0 hit points, you may use your action to stabilize it.
In addition, when you touch a creature who has died within the last minute, you may use your action and expend one use of rage to return them to life at 1 hit point. You cannot restore missing body parts in this way, nor can you return a creature to life if they have died of old age.
Once you return a creature to life in this way, you must finish a short or long rest to do so again.
